Part of the series Tracing Lines:

Featuring grids lines and segments, these paintings explore the patterns in life cycles. They are inspired by the cyclical repetition across generations, creating an imperfect, yet connected storyline.

This painting is particularly meaningful to me. It feels calm like a sunrise, full of hope. When my house and studio flooded during Hurricane Helene on September 27th, I found myself going to this painting amidst all the chaos over and over again. I had recently finished it; I wasn’t even sure it was was done when the hurricane hit, honestly. But, the more I looked at this painting, the more of a deep sense of calm I received from it. The four sections represent the 4 seasons. Winter-Spring-Summer-Fall, from the top left, clockwise. It focuses on the winter and spring months. Interestingly, the painting got me through the fall season, which is a blank space on the canvas.
