Part of the series Tracing Lines:

Featuring grids lines and segments, these paintings explore the patterns in life cycles. They are inspired by the cyclical repetition across generations, creating an imperfect, yet connected storyline.

“The boundary created by the color blocking in Tourmaline 2 highlights the line and color work in this painting. Two sides of the same coin. A conversation with two perspectives which are more alike than different.

I’ve been collecting rocks and minerals as a long as I can remember. Tourmalines have always been a personal favorite of mine. Besides being absolutely stunning, Tourmalines are said to carry with them a meaning I hope to convey through this piece. They are said to be a stone of reconciliation; one that fosters compassion.”
